terrestrial and extraterrestrial settings.
My Story
Adeyemi Adesina is a highly qualified material scientist civil engineer with over 7 years of experience in the research and development of sustainable materials that can be used to improve the built and
natural environments using data-driven systems for design and numerical-physical-hybrid testing.
He has made exceptional research contributions in the area of materials and structures, as evidenced by over 50 technical publications in top journals and collaborations with researchers from various parts of
the world. Adesina also has over 5 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate engineering courses in universities and possesses outstanding verbal and written communication skills,
as well as remarkable supervision skills.
Adeyemi completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering – Materials Engineering & Sustainability from the University of Windsor, where he is currently an Adjunct Professor.
He developed testing systems to evaluate the mechanical and durability performance of novel construction materials, utilizing artificial intelligence and robotics in the design of sustainable materials and optimized construction of infrastructures.
He also co-supervised graduate and undergraduate student working in the area of construction materials and structural resiliency of infrastructures and used numerical modelling to optimize and validate experimental research findings for structures constructed with greener and conventional materials.
Adeyemi is also currently working as a Research Associate at the National Research Council Canada and where he supports the Government of Canada’s goal to decarbonize the construction industry. Before his Ph.D., Adeyemi completed a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering – Materials Durability from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Honours) – Materials & Structures from the University of Ilorin. He also has experience as a construction project manager and civil engineer, where he worked on various residential building and renovation projects in Nigeria, and conducted site surveys for proposed roads in the province of Lagos.
